Why is it a sin to read for fun?

I have no opinion on either side of the "argument". Of course getting people to read is important but reading literary fiction is also important.
I know people that have read just one book over the summer. And that was forced reading. I, personally, have read around 10. I wish I could've read more but I couldn't find the time. Although these weren't classified as literary fiction, it still benefits me more than the kid that only read one book.
Reading literary fiction is boring. That's why no one chooses to read it but being forced to read it and do homework assignments on said book will increase comprehension.

Honestly, I have no idea what I'm saying. You can't really blog about this article because it gave you both sides and the arguments. What else do you want me to say?

New years

Well my New Years was fun. I went to my friend's house (after I forced her to invite me) and hung out. And we kinda broke her wii. Yup yup yup.
I went home and woke up my mom on the couch. Fun, right?
Uhhh yeah. Christmas was even worse. I got yelled at because my sister messed up the toilet and I refused to plunge. Then I didn't want to go to the movies anymore (which was a wise choice considering the one we wanted to see was sold out) but was forced to go anyways.
I saw a total of 6 movies this break.
  • Up in the Air (Pretty good)
  • It's complicated (Meh, it was alright)
  • Sherlock Holmes (Long but semi-good)
  • Avatar (IMAX 3D, wow.)
  • Harry Potter 6 (Boring)
  • Chronicles of Narnia (The books are better)

Yeah, boring but whatever.

I then made obnoxious videos using my mom's webcam and posted them on my friend's walls on facebook. They were obnoxiously obnoxious. Like, over the top obnoxious. Like whoa obnoxious.

I'M SO BORED. WHY CAN'T WE TALK IN THIS ROOM???? THIS IS UNGODLY BORING.
