I do pack, and will not blink

I think threats against lawmakers should be taken seriously. Not assigning them guns but providing extra protection for 2 weeks.
Although lawmakers should be worried, they shouldn't have to go out of their ways to assure their safety. The state/local/federal government should provide this protection instead of litering our semi-safe streets with more weapons.

T-Woods

He's a pretty cool golfer. I mean, a golfer that can get with as many chicks as him is an amazing role model. Yeah, his scandal will increase the ratings of golf tournaments like the Masters. But uh, yeah. Everyone still likes him because he is good at golf.

To be honest, I really don't need to do anything in the 4th marking period. I got a 97 in the first marking period, a 99 in the third, and a 99 on the midterm. I'm pretty good for the rest of the year.

Pepsi Refresh Project.

Pepsi came up with the idea to spend 1.3 million dollars on projects around the nation to better the country. This is a fantastic idea because it not only advertises Pepsi products but allows communities to have a voice in what they think needs work on.

My favorite is the Project P.O.T.S "Peace on the Street". This project's aim is to stop violence on the streets; again. I feel that with the elimination of crime in neighborhoods will affect other things in that neighborhood. The less crime there is, the more likely businesses will want to have a store there which will positively affect the economy in that area. The better the economy, the more likely the people in the neighborhood will be better financially prepared for the future.

What I don't like about this project is that $14,000 is spent on program directors. That's slightly over 25% of the money they would get. However, if everything else is spent appropriately, this project can become very successful and would inspire other communities to do the same.

Superbowl

Well it was boring. The commercials failed this year so I took a nap.

The teams were undesireable. Colts vs. Saints? Boo. I wish the Jets beat the Colts because they would most likely have a better chance at winning.

We bought pizza. Meh, it was alright. My mom insists on buying the Hawaiin Pizza and every time she does, she asks me to try a piece. Hello, I don't like pineapple. That's about the 50th time I told you that.

Luckily for me, I have a new obsession. Fringe. Possibly THE best TV show ever made.

It's like science meets CSI. Amazing. The writers think of some twisted plots and it always keeps you entertained.

I also shoveled. Or, snow blowed. My dad threatened to not give me a car if I didn't shovel his driveway while he was in Miami watching the Super Bowl. I arrive at his house and the snow plows managed to place 6 feet of compacted snow right in front of his driveway. Hah, I hope I didn't have to shovel that to get my car. Then my mom got all mad because he was at the super bowl and he still owes her money. Oh well.

Haddonfield

I think the 24/7 policy is a good idea.
Although some parents may allow their children to drink, they shouldn't allow them to be reckless in society. If these students are, then they deserve to have some privileges taken away from them. They deserve to have extracurriculars taken away from them.
Some may say that this is too harsh and it creates more exclusive parties. Although that is true, it limits the underage drinking to an extent and some improvement is better than no improvement.

After hearing what some kids did ("defecated in a piano and filled water guns with urine, spraying them across the home's furniture"), every parent should be against these parties. What would you do if that happened to you and this policy wasn't around? There would be no justice.
Sucks for you.

Why is it a sin to read for fun?

I have no opinion on either side of the "argument". Of course getting people to read is important but reading literary fiction is also important.
I know people that have read just one book over the summer. And that was forced reading. I, personally, have read around 10. I wish I could've read more but I couldn't find the time. Although these weren't classified as literary fiction, it still benefits me more than the kid that only read one book.
Reading literary fiction is boring. That's why no one chooses to read it but being forced to read it and do homework assignments on said book will increase comprehension.

Honestly, I have no idea what I'm saying. You can't really blog about this article because it gave you both sides and the arguments. What else do you want me to say?

New years

Well my New Years was fun. I went to my friend's house (after I forced her to invite me) and hung out. And we kinda broke her wii. Yup yup yup.
I went home and woke up my mom on the couch. Fun, right?
Uhhh yeah. Christmas was even worse. I got yelled at because my sister messed up the toilet and I refused to plunge. Then I didn't want to go to the movies anymore (which was a wise choice considering the one we wanted to see was sold out) but was forced to go anyways.
I saw a total of 6 movies this break.
  • Up in the Air (Pretty good)
  • It's complicated (Meh, it was alright)
  • Sherlock Holmes (Long but semi-good)
  • Avatar (IMAX 3D, wow.)
  • Harry Potter 6 (Boring)
  • Chronicles of Narnia (The books are better)

Yeah, boring but whatever.

I then made obnoxious videos using my mom's webcam and posted them on my friend's walls on facebook. They were obnoxiously obnoxious. Like, over the top obnoxious. Like whoa obnoxious.

I'M SO BORED. WHY CAN'T WE TALK IN THIS ROOM???? THIS IS UNGODLY BORING.
